Benchmark for International Store Designs
AICHINGER is represented with two projects in STORE BOOK 2026
AICHINGER is represented with two projects in the STORE BOOK 2026 published by the German Shop Fitting Association (dLv). The 13th edition of the yearbook includes the Seoudi Supermarkets branch in New Cairo and the Koll Bakery branch in Katzelsdorf in its list of the best. The 50 projects included are considered benchmarks in international store design. “We are very proud that two of our projects are featured in STORE BOOK 2026. This recognition confirms once again that we are able to deliver particularly design-driven and forward-looking solutions for our customers,” explains Patrick Simon, Head of Sales at AICHINGER.
The jury of shopfitting experts and shop designers was impressed by the Seoudi Supermarket in New Cairo‘s skillful combination of industrial-style black steel design elements with the regional design narrative featuring warm colors, patterns, and copper elements on the counter fronts. Based on the pre-established design concept, the 1,700 m² supermarket and the restaurant area were designed in two adjacent buildings. AICHINGER was responsible for the design concept, implementation planning, delivery, and installation of the fresh food area and food counters. In the fresh produce section with fish, cheese, meat, sausage, and a bakery, 35 linear meters of service counters and self-service refrigerated display cases were installed, and in the area used for gastronomy, a 16-meter-long food counter was integrated. The uniform design concept for both areas ensures recognition, strengthens brand identity, and enhances the customer experience.
The new branch of the Koll Bakery in Katzelsdorf is a perfect example of the successful transformation of a building in the center of town and the revitalization of a village center. The former “Zur Schmiede” Inn in this community of 3,100 residents in Lower Austria was converted into a 210 m² bakery branch with a spacious seating area that accommodates 40 people. Distinctive elements such as the wall paneling were carefully restored and integrated into the shop design. The façade was opened up to create a barrier-free entrance portal, making the artisan bakery selection visible from the outside and upon entering. AICHINGER was responsible for the design and implementation planning, interior work, furnishings, and construction management.
